SWEDEN - (EU) - 25/02/2011 - 3B Consulting - by Isabelle de Broglie - The Danish company Swire Ocean Blue which has a long experience in building vessels for the transportation and installation of offshore wind turbines, has been chosen by the Swedish Vattenfall to provide the Pacific Orca. This highly specialized vessel will transport the 80 Siemens turbines for offshore wind farm of Dan Tyska, located 69 km west of the island of Sylt in the North Sea. Swire Pacific Offshore
, including Swire Blue Ocean is a subsidiary, has over 30 years experience in offshore marine operations and has a large fleet. Orca Pacific, which can work up to 75 meters deep, will be built by Samsung Heavy Industry South Korea and will be delivered in 2012. It will therefore begin as early as 2013 to load the turbines and carry them on site. The certification will be provided by GL Group (Germanischer Lloyd).
