Rentel Seastar and will be located respectively 31 and 38 km from the Belgian coast and their joint production capacity will rise to over 500 MW. The total investment is estimated at over two billion euros, generating a yield sufficient energy to cover the annual consumption of 610,000 Belgian households.
Depending on the speed with which the system operator Elia realize connection to the Belgian high voltage grid, the two offshore wind farms will be executed consecutively and phase from 2015. WWF Report: a world almost clean by 2050?

China spends € 28.52 billion in its first marine economic zone

BEIJING - (China) - 22/02/2011- 3B Tips - By Francis Rousseau - According Istockanalyst and Xinhua News Agency, China opened Friday, February 18, 2011 its first marine economic zone (Shandong Peninsula Economic Blue Zone) in the coastal province of Shandong ( 山东 半岛) and signed for the Used a first batch of contracts for 23 programs valued at 255 billion yuan (€ 28.52 billion) to enable the country to extend its grip over the ocean. According to Fei Yunliang, responsible for the construction of this new economic zone, the contracts signed at a conference in Beijing covering the areas of agricultural technology new energy, global logistics, tourism and culture.
This program is a joint project between the County and Wendeng Shiwei Co., based in Hong Kong to develop the islands in Nanhai District tourist area. The provincial government will allocate 2 billion yuan (€ 223 million) work in 2011. The Shandong Peninsula Economic Blue Zone is one of three regional marine economic zones approved by the State Council in April 2010 and ratified in January, to be among the pilot areas development of marine economy of China . This
economic zone covers all waters off the coast of Shandong province in an area of 159,500 km2 . It also covers 64,000 km2 of land that border encompassing the six cities of Qingdao, Dongying, Yantai, Weifang, Weihai and Rizhao. Under the plan adopted, the Government of Shandong will coordinate with the new marine economy in the crosshairs development of emerging marine industries .
Wang Gang, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China, reiterated and emphasized that this development plan was indeed the forefront of regional development strategy focused exclusively on the maritime economy. He said that this huge sea will influence both the development of fossil fuels and renewable.
Shen Zhiyu, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) , said "the ability to use all the available marine resources was crucial for the economic prosperity of a country. China has abundant resources Marine, with 3 million km2 of marine area and 32,000 km of coastline. " The country has a marine reserve of oil and 24.6 billion tons of natural gas reserves of 1.6 billion m3. However, the maritime economy currently accounts for no more than 10% of China's GDP and is mainly focused on traditional industries such as fishing, transport and tourism, which together represent two thirds of the total marine production.

WindFloat is a patented floating base for offshore wind a simple design and economical set point by Marine Innovation & Technology (IM & T), subsidiary of Principle Power. The main feature of the floating platform WindFloat is to cushion the force of waves on the turbine installed. Its design and configuration can be positioned in locations previously inaccessible areas where the water depth exceeds 50 meters, wind turbines can make the most of a resource deemed superior offshore project plans to deploy a first WindFloat of size with a turbine Vestas V80 -2.0MW off the Portuguese coast at the height of Aguçadoura , test site of marine renewable energy connected to the mains earth EDP. The tests will be held for at least a year with the aim of validating the performance of WindFloat and Vestas turbine integrated. The project intends to rely on the ability Portuguese industrial and the existing skilled workforce capable of carrying out most of the manufacturing and installation. Principle Power will all responsibility for the project. Vestas will deliver, install and commission its model Vestas V80-2.0MW during 2011. Vestas wants to position itself as well as technological referent of the whole project, by supporting the integration of the turbine on the platform WindFloat.

Project funding was provided through contributions from partners, FCR-ISP-Inovcapital-Energias and through non-repayable grant from Fundo de Apoio to Inovação (ISP) .

Now on Buzzcomics , there is the reinterpretation of episode 32 of The Spaceknight ROM.
To refresh the memory of some, this series by Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema and Steve Ditko was partially published in Strange 131-178. The series will then place the Division Alpha, created by John Byrne.
In France, we had the first 46 episodes, more or less butchered, truncated LUG recomposed by the publisher of the time. More damaging still is missing close to 32 episodes (29 in the regular series plus 3 annual, (there were 4 annual, but the first was published in spidey46 & 47 !)... We will never know the end of the most famous of toasters in France and it is very unlikely that we ever reissue of VO that the character was created by Hasbro and it does not go an episode (almost) without the intervention of a Marvel character!
Well, I say that but in fact e will not cry too because I had the opportunity to get their hands on the complete series in Vo some time ago already.

WASHINGTON - (United States) - 18/02/2011- 3B Tips - By Francis Rousseau - The NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) , U.S. agency responsible for study of the ocean and atmosphere established in 1970, has launched a web site containing legal information specifically designed for companies interested in the development of HTA (OTEC French; Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion, OTEC in English). The site Ocean & Costal Resource Management is under the dual hat the Department of Commerce and NOAA and aims to cover all procedures for marine renewable energy in general. This is not the case now, since it is the ETM (OTEC), which happens to be featured. Among other documents, can be found including details of the OTEC Act of 1980 well as other important archives that allow any manufacturer who wants to be enlightened on the operating conditions of HTA in the U.S. .
What interested Americans in ETM technology, besides the possibility of producing electricity is its potential to produce other products like water without salt, hydrogen, ammonia and cold water that can be used in air conditioning systems (SWAC-Sea Water Air Conditioning) and in aquaculture. These are the fields of operations that explain the appeal of the foot to the private sector with this new site is shown. It also contains extensive information regarding the procedures to follow to explore the technological and environmental systems ETM commercial scale as well with representatives of federal, with state representatives, academics, organizations non-governmental and private sector actors.
There are no commercial facility ETM based in the U.S. (if they are experimental facilities in Hawaii). However, federal agencies seem to believe the rapid achievement of a demonstrator through collaboration with the private sector. The U.S. Department of Energy says even prepared to authorize demonstration projects in consultation with NOAA. Interested companies are invited to submit a license application just to NOAA. Amazing approach to technology deemed so complex to implement.

COLORADO SPRINGS - (United States) - 17/02/2011- 3B Tips - A team of researchers from the U.S. Air Force Academy 's Aeronautics Laboratory (U.S. FAA) conducted by Dr. . Stefan Siegel recently announced it had reached operate more than 99% of energy contained in a simulation of ocean wave pool and it was preparing to move to the next experimental stage. This research on the effectiveness of energy recovery is part of a program funded by the National Science Foundation intended to develop the first wave energy converter completely submerged generating electricity. The U.S. FAA has initiated this project since the fall of 2008 convinced that the decades of experience accumulated by the professors of aeronautics department in fluid dynamics for various military aircraft and spacecraft NASA could well be useful for create a wave energy converter performance. Performance, that is to say the rate of energy recovered, being in fact the main problem of wave energy converters currently being tested around the world. Dr. Stefan Siegel confirmed that the results obtained during the initial simulation experiments had clearly demonstrated the ability to recover 95% of wave energy, capacity that was then brought in a second experimental phase, 99% . "There are enough good reasons to believe that when we move to a larger scale simulation, the results will be similar" he said.
The research in both computer science and physics were held in the offices of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, the only place that provides access to multiple environments search simultaneously. "It's really one of the great benefits of working in this environment" , said Dr. Siegel "because we have access to an exceptional ability to computing capabilities, and also a laboratory which provides excellent experimental facilities. "
Academy cadets are more inclined to join in experimental research on the energy waves that "matter" is now on the agenda of the current semester. The current contract for three-year grant from the NSF will end in September 2011, when the Department Energy intends to grant an extension of $ 400 000 to complete two test campaigns with scale models 1 / 10 to Offshore Technology Research Center of Texas A & M University . This research center has one of the largest wave pools in the world, which is expected to conduct experiments on a wave pattern much larger and potentially allow the testing of three wave energy converters simultaneously .
This funding is also expected to complete the project close to the stage of industrial manufacture.
No date is set for it.

BEIJING - (China) - 16 / 02/2011- 3B Tips - The Chinese manufacturer Sinovel (华 锐 风 电) announced its intention to develop a turbine 10 MW . The announcement was made in spite of recommendations made last year by Li Junfeng, deputy director of the National Development and Reform of China (National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) , which recommended that research on Energy wind and Chinese manufacturers focus on developing products in the range from 1.5 MW to 2 MW rather than engaging in high-capacity turbines. The announcement of the start of construction of this mega turbine was made by Gang Tao, director of Sinovel, who took the opportunity to also announce that 6 MW turbine on which the company is currently working will be launched in June 2011 .
In deciding to develop a 10 MW turbine, manufacturers like Sinovel joined AMSC (American Superconductor) , and Clipper Windpower Gamesa , whose work on models of turbines offshore 10 MW have already begun. (See our article June 10, 2010)
Gang Tao while keeping detailed statements on future Sinovel 10MW turbine but suggested that, like its 5MW Sinovel multisite turbofan developed since October 2010, 10 MW would also be multi-site, that is to say, usable both in onshore wind farms, offshore and in parks mixing energy flows (fluvial and marine) and wind energy. It might (it is a conditional!)
